For the SajdaTime browser extension for Chrome and Edge. Last updated 28 October 2026.
SajdaTime shows prayer times in your browser. It is made to work without an account, without ads and without sending your information to a server.
The extension uses the browser's local extension storage, chrome.storage.local, for:
While you are setting the extension up, your in-progress answers are held in the same local storage under a separate key, sajdatime.setup.v1, so the setup can resume where you left off. That key is removed the moment you finish, and only your finished settings stay.
This information stays in the browser profile on the computer where you installed the extension. It is not synced to your Google account by SajdaTime. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage, subject to the browser's own behaviour.
Location is optional. If you choose Use my location, the browser asks for permission and passes SajdaTime a latitude and longitude. SajdaTime stores those coordinates locally, rounded to about one kilometre, so it can work out prayer times for your place. If you refuse, or the browser cannot find a place, the extension offers Use Makkah for now and says clearly that the times are for Makkah.
Prayer times are calculated on the computer. SajdaTime does not send the coordinates to any server of its own or of anyone else.
The printable month view is a page inside the extension, worked out on this computer. Saving it as a PDF uses your browser's own print dialog, and nothing is sent anywhere.
The browser's own location service is separate from SajdaTime. Depending on your browser, operating system and settings, it may use wifi, mobile networks or a network location service to estimate where you are. SajdaTime does not control that service and cannot promise that the coordinates the browser gives it were worked out without a network request.
The extension asks only for what the visible features need:
Prayer alerts use three more permissions, and they do nothing until you turn alerts on in Settings. Alarms wake SajdaTime at each prayer time. Notifications show the prayer message. Offscreen lets SajdaTime play the beep or the adhan, because its background part cannot play sound by itself. None of them sends anything off this computer.
SajdaTime does not ask for access to your tabs, your browsing history, your bookmarks or the content of any web page.
The extension bundles the adhan-js prayer time library. It runs locally. SajdaTime uses no third party analytics, advertising or cloud service.
The offline city search uses data from GeoNames under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. That data is shipped inside the extension and is not contacted at run time.
If you install SajdaTime from the Chrome Web Store or the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store, the store operator processes the install and may collect information under its own privacy policy. That is outside SajdaTime's control.
SajdaTime is a general audience utility. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. A change that affects what is stored or sent will also be described in the extension's release notes.
